SPORTS - It doesn't teach you to win or lose, but what it does is the courage to continue and complete the game even when you have lost the game for sure.
- One of my most favorite quote about the word that itself inspires a trillion lives everyday, I dont know who said it or it may even be myself who framed it somewhere & somehow, yet it carries one the biggest learning everyone must have. sPORTs is the port I was referring to which helps us move from one S to the other. How often have we seen a team or a player comeback from almost losing to winning ??!! Even if the team loses it is the comeback that teaches us a life long lesson - Never Back Down. I am just going to give a few of the best quotes, the greatest have ever said about the word that has taught me my greatest lessons of life - Sport.
Be a sport dude!!! Thats the spirit of sportsmanship... He is a sport..!! Well these words are fairly easy to say, but to gain even one of these, then there is a need to have a lot of patience, passion to the sport, perseverance and determination. These words are easy to teach but to practice this is the toughest.
One man practicing sportsmantship is far better than 50 preaching it
-Knute Rockne
That's the difficulty I am speaking about, there are a lot of things that are easy to teach but the better way to make someone learn is by showing how to do it. If you are a person who is a sportsman, when I mean sportsman I speak for the never give up, be passionate kid of guy, then you can take a minute everyday(even a little extra time) and praise yourself that you have taught at least a few people.
Right from the moment as a kid when you start practicing a sport, you learn the lessons for a lifetime - The hardwork, the taste of success and numerous failures, the effect of continuous practice and above all team work.
The five S's of Sports training are Stamina, speed, strength, skill and spirit. But the greatest of them is the Spirit. - Ken Doherty
Winning- may be the word that many people have in mind when they start to play or watch a sport. But a true sports guy sees the spirit of the game rather than the result itself. As I say what comes easy is what that's not deserved.Well if you don't believe me then here's the words of the Football legend of Brazil for you:
The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning - Pele
Since I've come to football, there are a few more of it that I remember:
The team is larger than any player, but the sport is greater than any team itslef. - Unknown
That one's for the few people who think that the sport exists only because of a few players, who they believe to be greater than the sport itself. The recent happenings in the football world has already taught a good lesson for many people that Love, hardwork and passion for a sport can defeat the strength and skill. the greatest enemy for any team or a person is what that lies between their two ears. When you take success to the heart - You become a legend but when you take the success to your brains and nerves - You are a forgotten hero. Any victorious team or player when asked will definitely tell you that treating your opponent equally and understanding their potential will only lead to victory, while getting complacent and having a egoistic approach will lead to upsets. The other major lesson that sports teaches you is that - Every opponent is harder and tougher in his own ways.
Now it's been a fairly long post, and there is one great saying about Football that deserves a mention:
Playing football with your foot is one thing , but playing football with your heart is a completely different thing.
And that my friends is not only for football but for any sport, any situation of life - Its a word that must be inscribed in your hearts. take up anything and do it with your heart towards it, success or failure learn the lessons that the game teaches you..!! After all no one won their game always.!!
I's missed more than 9000 shots in my life. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and I've missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that's why I've succeeded.

Until next time - Your blogger :)
